Accommodation Services

Link2Home

Information & referral service for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They work in partnership with a range of homelessness services. If you are Aboriginal you can ask to speak with an Aboriginal worker. The intake & assessment process may take up to 20 minutes.

Wariga Ngurra Women & Children's Refuge

Women's & children's refuge offers emergency accommodation and support for women who are homeless due to domestic violence. They also offer court support, children's activities, outreach support, advocacy, housing support, child support, and referrals.

Families NSW For Aboriginal children, families & communities 

Newcastle and Port Stephens region.

Matthew Talbot Homeless Centre

For parents with children that are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. Providing housing assistance, person-centered support provided by Case Managers, Mental Health Nurse, Private Real Estate Agent & other wrap-around supports to maintain a tenancy. Assertive outreach to people sleeping rough.

Our Backyard

Car-to-home project. Provides a place for people to sleep in their vehicle as well as hot showers, dry towels, toilets, kitchen facilities, and assistance to connect with other services. Opens at 4 pm daily.

Jenny's Place

Jenny's Place, Newcastle, is a safe and supportive place for women and children who are experiencing domestic violence or are homeless. Includes emergency crisis accommodation, supported crisis accommodation, and assistance to find longer-term accommodation.

Nova For Women And Children

Nova provides a range of assistance to women, with or without children and who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Nova provides Counselling, Court Support, Advocacy, Referrals, and Case Management.

Food Services

Soul Cafe

Soul Cafe provides free hot meals to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness. Come into Soul Cafe and get to know the Soul team. They will help you with a meal, takeaways, or food cafe packages as well as connect you with other services when available. Services include a Free weekly medical clinic, mental health nurse, podiatry, hearing screening, Centrelink, Legal Services, disability advocacy services, Jenny's Place Women's Services, chaplaincy, haircuts, SMART drug & alcohol, Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, and other support services. 


Breakfast: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat 7 am - 8:30 am 

Lunch: Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs 11:30 am - 1 pm 

Sunday Lunch: 12 pm - 1pm fortnightly
