Firstly, we must apologise for our lack of updates on this blog page. Ann-Maria and our lovely volunteers have all been very busy with the day-to-day running of our organisation as well as looking after the many events that we both hold here on site and attend elsewhere.
We will endeavor in future to post more numerous smaller updates about what is happening here at Survivor's R Us along the lines of what we already do on our Facebook page and other social media sites, such as Twitter and Instagram.
For example, this week alone we have had several things going on:
Monday, 26th November 2018
Today we had the privilege of having Robyn Lewis in to be a guest speaker at our Butterfly Corner! She informed us about the use of ice and how damaging it is to people lives. Contact us for more information, Robyn is more than willing to speak at another Butterfly Corner.
Pictured below is Robyn Lewis with NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro during their discussion on the use of ice within Australia.

A lot has been happening here at our Survivor’s R Us premises in Cardiff! Our wonderful Staff and Volunteers have been so busy with a big re-organisation of our administration office spaces, the food bank and our creative sewing and craft areas.
But best of all – We have expanded into the ajoining unit space. After a fresh coat of paint and some very hard work we now have a fantastic Op Shop…
Our spacious Op shop is stocked with a great variety of quality preloved household goods, blankets, manchester, kitchen items, furniture, books, games and toys. Racks of men’s, women’s, kids and baby clothing to browse through and quality brand shoes to try.
Our shelves are constantly being restocked as items come and go daily. Why wouldn’t they……Our prices are so reasonable
First in Best Dressed!! We’ll regularly post pic’s of great items we have for sale however we can’t guarantee how long they will stay! If you spot something… be quick
Our Op Shop is open from 9.00am till 4.00pm Monday-Thursday and 9.00am till 2pm Friday. We also have EFTPOS facilities for your convenience

Survivor's R Us is proud to be associated with OzHarvest and their efforts in helping those in need with their Food Rescue program.
As a local charity organisation, we are invested in supporting the local community, and the people at OzHarvest are doing their best in finding ways to rescue unused and surplus food and produce from all types of food providers including fruit and vegetable markets, supermarkets, hotels, wholesalers, farmers, stadiums, corporate events, catering companies, shopping centres, delis, cafes, restaurants, film and TV shoots and boardrooms.
On occasion, OzHarvest will deliver their Rescued Food to Survivor's R Us, and those details are posted on https://www.facebook.com/Survivorsrusincorporated/" target="_blank">our Social Media pages, We often receive a variety of food and produce during the week and promote this as soon as it is available.
OzHarvest doesn't just rescue food, they also have NEST, food and cooking training sessions to introduce people to cooking with fresh produce and making quick, nutritious and healthy meals for themselves. Their chefs introduce people to cooking new or interesting meals, how to manage leftovers, how to balance convenience with nutritional needs and much more.
OzHarvest has been operating in Newcastle since 2010 and we are proud to have OzHarvest supporting Survivor's R Us as an establishing Charity Organisation and helping us out.
